EMS is staffing up with summer interns to support operations and provide excellent learning opportunities for college students. Our crews are currently involved in an invasive species mapping and management action in the southeast portion of Mississippi. This work includes hands-on applications of scientific data generation, knowledge of remote sensing, and database management, which presents a good opportunity to introduce our future scientist and engineers to environmental issues and related responses.
James “Jay” Gasquet has already been working with EMS as an intern during the summer for several years. He is currently at LSU pursuing a degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering.
EMS welcomes the following interns!
Robert Johnson is attending Jones College studying Biological Science with plans to attend Mississippi State.
Cailynn Gerald is attending LSU, her major is Biological Engineering with a minor in Robotics. She will be graduating from LSU in May 2024.
Jacob Reid is attending Mississippi State pursuing Civil Engineering.
